Hello Neal,
Yes and as you would know I am always telling people that Azaleas are strong. It's all a question of a healthy plant and knowing when to do the work on them.
I have the lizzard problem so try to keep everything on shelves -even the Strawberries, which they love.
The main problem with plants on the ground is worms getting into the mix though I think I get less now that I am moving into Kanuma only.

Its about two and a half months now since the initial work to start this tree and it has done so well I have given it another trim. Since starting it off Arthur has been kind enough to give me some suggestions on how to proceed with developing it and even a sketch with one idea for styling it. So, I have just cut it back further to stimulate more budding back and removed the lower left hand branch to 'reveal the bole of the tree'. I think I will just leave it be now until atleast the end of summer and the hot weather.
Cheers,
neal.

Did a bit more work on this tree tonight, its first bit of wiring to try and sort out the branches a bit and a tip prune to encourage back budding.
It now stands 13cm tall.

this one is coming along very nicely champ!
good taper, good branch structure, a very fine start indeed, and the growth rate is good too! I look forward to seeing it in the next couple of years, this will turn into a great little shohin that you could be very proud to enter into a show! great shohin height too!
