Gday Chris, Mr Adams & Co!
Here are the two trees I hope to bring to the workshop. Please let me know if they aren't appropriate.
The first is a Melaleauca armillaris that I bought a few years ago (from The Imagination Tree, no less!), and it has gone through a bit of a makeover. I have really enjoyed playing with this one:
The second is a River Red Gum that I have trained since it was a seedling:
Thanks for looking, and I'm truly looking forward to August!
FlyBri.

Hi FlyBri,
Both the Melaleuca and the gum look great. It will be good to work on them together and develop them further. You've made a couple of real Australian images!
See you soon.
Best .. Peter

Hi all,
Time flies and it's not long before Peter and Kate will be here! It will be a great week. So if you want to be part of it you still can.
There are still 3 spots left on the Saturday. The Sunday one is completely full. So let me know as soon as possible if you want to participate. I also ask to interstate people who missed out on a spot at their local club to come down. There is a motel right next door from the nursery. We can pick you up from the airport or train station.
As you know we are a non for profit organsation that mainly employ people with mental and physical disabilities. It's not about to fill our pockets. We do a serious job here, not only in growing and providing great bonsai and quality stock, we also use many of these people in our nursery.
You can help us out to employ more people that seriously need help by simply shopping with us.
We organise free events and free workshops and we won't even get paid for that. We do this purely for all of you. We like to help the bonsai community where we can. We also give all Bonsai Club Members a standard 25% off products. We have special deals throughout the year. If you don't want to miss out on those become a fan of our Facebook page
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=1 ... 8998033738 and subscribe to our newsletter "Bonsai Bitz".
So help us and you will help us to do more for you and the people in need.
This month we have our Stocktake Sale on so grab a deal while you can. Up to 50% off!!
We hope to see you soon and support us along the way.
Thanks,
Chris and the whole team of The Imagination Tree

Gday Chris & Co!
With less than a week to go, I thought I'd ask what we should bring along to the workshops other than our trees. I have never attended a workshop before, so please excuse my ignorance.
Thanks in advance!
FlyBri.

When I did mine with Peter 2 years ago, I just took my own toolkit and supplies ( wire, tape, Glue

)
also make sure you have a good camera and charged batterries

I am also getting excited, the big day is close now.
Here is a photo of the tree to be worked on on Sat AM

I asked Bodhi what species it was but he was unsure, my best guess is juniperus sabina but I suspect this is not corect.
Photos of aftenoon options to come later

I have a strong belief that it is sensible to have a back up tree when attending a workshop, sometimes the guest artist will suggest that:
the tree is in poor health,
or chop, chop and wire (finished in 5 minutes)
or chop a few branches and wait a year to see where it buds back.
No matter who the artist, sometimes they do not see anything special in the material which is offered.
I will have no problem asking Peter which of my trees 'talks to him' and which should be left for another workshop next year.
Here are some pictures of my backup.

Shore pine, or lodgepole pine "Spaans dwarf"

it has one of the most unusual, bright red flowers I have ever seen on a pine.

Hi All,
Just a reminder that the Peter Adams Workshops are on this weekend. They start at 9.00am and finish at 5.00pm. There are still a few people that haven't paid the full amount. Can you please pay the last payments before the weekend, please?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi FlyBri,
You have to bring your own tools and wire (but this could be purchased on the day as well.). I have a few turntable but if you have your own then please bring it.
Thanks,
Chris
