Lovely Wisterias Paul they are certainly the harbingers of spring. I remember seeing them in Japanese collections all stacked up with the prunus out the back, when I queried them they just said oh those old things we only bring them to the front at flowering time.

Craig, I was told by older wiser teachers at the school, that you stick wisteria out the back and forget about them until flowering
then display them

Great stuff Paul it is also looking picture perfect.
I am looking forward to learning the ins and outs of the Wisteria. I had a funny start with them years ago when I wondered why mine put on leaves and then flowered instead of flowering first as you show. It ended up mine was a Summer wisteria (Indigofera). Looks just like a wisteria but I reckon more delicate looking.
I killed mine years ago so I have been on the lookout for another as I reckon they would be great.
Anyway as there are no Cascades to show I thought I would take a picture of one from Bonsai Today # 90 that I have admired for years. I wonder if the length of flowers has something to do with species? I would like to See the structure of the branches. Looks like a down then up arrangement?

I appreciate your kind words very much.
This wisteria is approximately 24" (61cm) tall at this point in time.
Have you used any of your new pots yet? I look forward to seeing a few photos when you do.

G'day Paul, no I haven't used any of the pots yet, not for bonsai anyway. Its still a bit hot for repotting here. they are 'on display' where I can enjoy them though. Thanks for all the wisteria info too, I will put my one and only wisteria into a water tray I think, its leaves all got burnt on the tips this summer.
