Give you pines a spray mate, tiny evidence of dothistroma on your needles. Get to it before the new spring needles emerge, a couple of sprays at intervals should do it.

Your trees do look much healthier. After I pruned in december the tree put on a lot of growth probably more under stress than anything else. I will continue to seasol through winter and look at repotting in a larger pot in spring to get the tree in a more healthy state. I am very new to pine growing and all this info helps greatly. Pines seem very intimidating to me as I can never be certain which direction to go with them. I am worried about cutting branches, root prunning and potting as I feel a mistake anywhere here may cause irreversable damage. Are pines more forgiving than they are made out to be?

Yeah they are. They pop up around here all the time. I have a few that I am growing on, still very young.

And just to REALLY divert this thread. Jarrod, we have permission to dig. I will send you a photo of the tree in question.

This pine hasnt feature in quite a while so I thought I would re post with the latest photos.

I think in some ways it looks less healthy bout once these spring candles open it should look a lot better.

I think the species still remains a mystery the buds are not completly white but not completely brown either.

Anyhow open for discussion again.
