Hey Craig,

I really like the lower trunk on the back pic but then the twist half way along gets lost almost completely. The front pic feels like its falling away from me.

You know what I am going to ask for.. the other 2 sides, if you took pics at the time, that doesn't look light.

I have seen enough of your trees to take your word on it, I just think it could be tweaked a little bit. Is it possible to tilt from the back & or left to create some more definition to the twist without losing the whole line... I am liking it baby, like bodhi a little bit lustful

Well done on this by the way.
After looking at all the pics, in my opinion I prefer it tilted 5 to 10(max) degrees higher so that the section of trunk just before the loop is ever so slightly above horizontal...if you get my meaning? (only just pointing slightly up).
It is absolutely a minor point, but one that suits my eyes...on this angle it also slightly raises the branches at the end of the tree which I also like.

Well, I was completely wrong about getting rid of the lower jin...

That's a magnificent base, and the back view looks to have more interesting texture than the front. From these photos it looks like the lower jin is very much a part of the design, particularly if there's some discreet carving to get a bit more movement into it.

Am I being fanciful, or, in the back view, is the live, twisting tongue of the dragon flying out from the jaws made by the jins?

Not fanciful to me but I love it when a tree can create an image for someone like that.

I saw it aswell Gavin,

The proposed rear of the tree also has interesting appeal as you both say, i am thinking with some very careful thought/planning i can develop both sides to look good . If the rear was to be used as a main front, then i could most likely tilt the trunk so the "loop" could be more of a feature. Still alot to consider with the overall direction i want to go but it's got potential.

Yeah that's the bit mate, thanks for the compliment!
A little petty to point out such a minor detail especially with such terrific material that is still in the development stage.
Good idea to get it looking good for both views etc. Yes the trunk detail and texture is certainly very interesting and maybe even a little more dynamic in areas on the now back view, but as a whole image I personally prefer the current front...each to their own hey
How much work/carving are you planing to do to the lower jin, if any? Could I trouble you for another sketch or virt when you get some free time (with the foliage and jin included)?
It is a big ask and being that you have previous virts etc and also that things may change anyway...up to you of course, but I for one would love a preview if you can?

Dario, i find it hard to do the jins and deadwood but this may be an idea p.s- this will make the tree 650mm tip to tail.

If you look at the new virt and Tony's virt(working with what i gave him) where it is layed over alot more, the new direction portrays a more powerful image/tree,especially with some nice carving, IMO.

Hi Craig, after reading this I thought fair enough, it would be great if some others did a virt too!...even felt a little rude asking you to do one
Anyway, I really like the virt that you have done and hopefully this will inspire others who no how to do virts to post some of their own...I always enjoy seeing virts by Jamie and Rod to name only a couple of members.
At the very least I am sure that your virt will get a discussion going that may result in some more ideas etc...one of the many things that AB is good at doing!

Lovely tree Craig, but I think I porefer it as a more semi cascade?

Leant over more ( about 20 deg) give more movement out of the ground and a more graceful line.
IMHO with it the angle you have for your virt, it looks to me like it comes out of the ground straight and then has been whacked over at a right angle
