Hey everyone just wanted to let you all know that i received the peppercorn tree today!
It looks better in real life than it does in the photos!

I want to thank all the other participants of the auction and a big thanks to fly for great bonsai material and all the effort he put into packing the tree.

I will keep all those here at ausBonsai posted on any progress of the tree.

Kind regards,
Ketut

Congrats Ketut. I will be looking forward to the updates. I am pulling a couple from the ground in spring and will be looking for advice. I have had some trouble controling the growth in the ground.
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

FlyBri - Can I ask where you sourced this wonderful Peppercorn tree? Peppercorn is another species I've been toying with getting; we have such beautiful examples along the roads here in Melbourne. What sort of conditions do they like?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Spookybonsai. I've got 5 of them and I find them about the toughest, hardiest tree that I've ever dealt with. They tollerate dry and wet conditions, brutal savage butchery that I call trimming and for some reason keep coming back for more.

Only one thing, they do not thicken up if they are perpetually trimmed. They need to be let go a bit to ensure they thicken up. I guess this is the same for a lot of trees.

Go for it mate. I love 'em.

Awesome! Do they root well from cuttings? I know where lots of Peppercorns are that have shoots coming off them.
