Boon advised that it was dangerous to completely bare root a pine. You can do one side and wait a year or two before doing the other.
Deciduous can be bare rooted and repotted into the new medium. (best done in late winter)

These two DVDs display the correct repotting and 'wiring-in' procedures for both Deciduous and Conifers. You will see that the 'stock' maple is bare-rooted but the JBP is not.

I tend to do half of the rootball this year, half next year with pines.

Also, remember to water and fertiliser more frequently with this mix.
