Can't say for sure when I collected but I remember it was very hot so must have been well into Summer. Not sure I would recommend that :?
I am sure the styling is not to all taste so I am glad you like it :)

Ah thanks anyway bretts, I collected a good casurina stump in September and it's growng on well so I wanted to collect the rest from the area I found the other but I'm not completely sure if now will be ok or not.

Since I collected this in hot Summer and it worked I would be keen to experiment that way agian as with many of our natives(and other trees for that matter) it seems after care is the most important factor.

True, I won't know if I don't try and if I give good aftercare it should be right.

Collected Casuarina coming along

I think I mentioned that I was disappointed with the progress of the ramification on this but now I would say it is progressing OK. It's regrowth is not as obvious as my other casuarina but over time I now see it is definitely happening.
I had the lower branch as a sacrifice branch and since it is doing such a great job I thought it might be a good idea to incorporate it into the design for now.
Who knows it might even make a cookie cutter design some what more interesting :ugeek:

Still needs more wire but is enough for a slacker like me for now :palm:

Hey Brett,

This is the first time I have seen this thread and started from the beginning, the progress is fantastic in 3yrs. The healing of the large scar is incredible, have you used cutpaste to help this along?

Is the first pic your final chosen front or the second an option because I really like its curves with a little change to the apex and maybe turned to the left a little.

Matt

The scar is still much the same Matt, it can't be seen in these pics. I will try to put a fresh pic of the scar up, It will be there for a fiar while yet.
Oh and no I did not use any cut paste just left it el natural
Glad you like it Bodi,

Coming along nicely Brett.
I like the low branch and think you should incorporate it into the design by wiring it upwards into a son/daughter trunk.

Steven

I hadn't really thought of that, which is pretty silly of me, but I do like the idea of a wayward low branch.

Looking again I figure I can develop the branch I cut to grow up while still keeping the the ground hugging branch and decide at a later date when more developed.
Thanks for the idea :tu:

This guy is nice and solid in the pot now so it was time to get in hard and give a little more direction.

A branch up the top left has refused to extend after a hard prune a year or so back and that leaves the top unbalanced at the moment :x

Edit: Hmm the very top section looks straight and out of place in this pic. I had taking a little of the top so I will have to have another look :lost:

Brett, what do you think about changing the flow of the leader , :?: to be more in line with the flow of your tree
