Thats an excellent concept for the tree Antonio. I might consider the first right branch to be a bit more pronounced it could make a much bigger impact of that bend. I can understand why you have gone the way you have though. Will just have to wait and see :)

thanks bretts, i feel alot more comfortable with this design not depicting a pine styling. i tend to agree with you on that 1st right branch too. thanks for having a crack i appreciate it. :D

Hey Tony,
Awesome virtual. I would love to see it styled like that. It will capture an incredible image in bonsai. Looking forward to seeing this in the years ahead.

Oops I meant the first left branch LOL
It kinda looks like a Tyrannosaurus Rex with those little arms that are good for nothing. ;)
It might end up giving a concept of massive size but I would consider going bigger as well. It already is massive. ;)
Like I said excellent work but something to consider.

This is a hard tree for me to think design on. The movement in the trunk suggests it should be styled like a pine however i think that like you, i dislike that on decidous trees. I would suggest drawing it up with the branches coming out of all the outsides of bends. more conventional.

Might have to try to get around to see it at some stage....

P.s. sorry if my ramblings are confusing.

i hear what ya saying jezz, have pondered that styling again and again. conventional. yes that word and that word alone challenge's me and dare's me to be different. this tree would make a monster moyogi, no doubt about it. but to me it would just mean doin the conventional thing. im not saying my direction is the way but im on my way in this direction. i am inspired by trees in nature and the inter play of their subtrunks. i like the tension and drama this design creates, as well as the controversey. a bit like antonio the hairdresser. ( drama queen )   jezz i do appreciate your input. :D

No problem mate, I totally understand wanting to do things different. I think its the only way the art can progress.

I know that with that base the tree will turn out amazing what ever you decided to grow on top ;) its very well developed stock.

Cheers

in the light of some recent talk on health of elms and trees in general, i thought it is time for a little update; all the neccessary parts are pretty much selected and growing strong. some branching has guy wire to direct the exit points. this is horticultural bliss for me! :D 8-)
