That's a cracker elm! I'm always interested in fig material. Really need a willow leaf for my collection... If you have any i may be interested, depending on what they're like. :tu:

Can't wait for Saturday...

Remember its a Market Day, not sales day ;)

It should be a good day and be great to put faces to names and meet other members from the site.

Cheers

Hope to see you there mate!

One of our stall holders will be bringing a load of large bonsai pots to sell. These pots were imported several years ago and were found sitting in a paddock still in the shipping crate. I believe that the prices will be pretty reasonable too

Only 1 week to go.

Steven
Pots are good :tu: bit hard to smuggle trees in the carry on luggage :o hope to make it :fc:

You must be a fit young man Steven and I hope you are too Ryan....a 15 minute hard run would be more like it :worship:

Having grown up not far from the Market Day location I wouldn't encourage any of our older Ausbonsaists to walk. (Unless you like a long walk)
It's a good hour from Auburn, Berala or Granville Stations.
Both Granville and Auburn Station have buses that pass nearby.

Can't wait, looking forward for a few nice pots myself. :tu:
Hi Glenn thanks for the advise, I walk 10km+ each day so I'd put ~3km at about 35mins brisk walk 8-) (and a bit longer loaded up walking back   )
Cheers, Ryan

Negotiate away Angus. Whether or not they accept your offer is up to the individual stall holder but it doesn't hurt to ask ;)

We've now got 20 stall holders which is almost to capacity of the venue. May be able to squeeze another one in if anyone is considering.

I am soooo bummed I will be working that weekend. I am trying to convince my parents to get out there and see if they can grab me something. I would like them to pick up something from Grants Table :hooray:. I have a feeling they will stop in at Bunnings on the way home :(.

Good shopping to all who do get there, and thanks Steven for organising such a great event. I hope everything runs well and there will be more in the future.

Hi

Glad to hear the excitement is building around this great event.

Is anyone going to be selling any pre-bonsai material? Unfortunately I don't have the budget for any of the stunning trees I have seen on this thread.

I'll also be looking for some wire and maybe some tools.

Looking forward to it.

G'day Aquaman,

The majority of trees for sale will be prebonsai and starter stock. There will also be advanced 'finished' bonsai as well as very old bonsai that need work to get them back to their former glory. Prices from $1 to $4,000.00 :tu:
Grant will have copper wire for sale in all sizes and I'm aware of some tools being sold too. There will be hand made pots and imported ones.

We now have 21 stall holders so there should be something for everyone.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the day!

Regards,
Steven

I have started loading the van;

A layer of big pots(3),
4 bags of medium Kanuma into the biggest pot,
Copper wire in 2kg and 1kg rolls,

Then on Friday;
2 old starter materials; one Chinese elm and an Cedrus "Mountain Beauty"
and then the bonsai (and display stands if I have space).

See you there.

Hi all,

I love going to markets and especially if there's any bonsai or plants for sale. Thanks Steven for organising.

My questions are:
1. Will there be anyone selling Diatomite? I see a lot of mention of this in the forums, and have read this is better than Zeolite
2. Will there other plants such as carnivourous plants? Looking to add some more pitcher plants and sundews in my backyard.

Cheers!

Jack
