Disappointing nursery visits

does anyone know where to get labels for the pricing gun that the printed price does not fade in the weather, not going to be eaten by slugs and snails overnight, and does not come off too easily?

You can get label printers and tags designed for outdoors (which would be costly no doubt), but the pricing gun will never cut it, they don't even last very long indoors I used to hate those things, they broke more often then they worked

What about just a simple white paint marker? not whiteout which would wash off, but a proper outdoor paint marker, like this: http://www.artline.com.au/products/spec ... nt-marker/

Like I said though, it doesn't bother me that much, am just trying to be constructive

no no no... you don't understand, you're meant to go out each morning and redo all the faded slug eaten fallen off labels, off your products that need constant watering and sun exposure.

it's just hard seeing a good friend getting critiqued like this.

Have to say Bonsai South has great stock and reasonably priced. I often visit and know that if I buy the stock it is in great condition . Love the owner too always obliging. Bonsai Environment very run down and only cater for wholesale for sure. Ray Nesci a good variety of stock and friendly service. Padre Pio has beautiful trees but the no price is a turnoff. I always get the feeling that they don't want to part with the stock. Over all I think it would be a great idea for Aus Bonsai to have more market days throughout the year so we can go and either sell or buy at reasonable prices. Would love this. The last day was super.

That's what Leong do in Bonsai South. White paint, or white paint marker and write on the black plastic pot. I learn that from him and date my stock trees. Just cross it out and write a new price if there is a change. Isn't it quite easy? But it could be quite tiresome to change it every day as the tree grow or some greedy customer not only swapping tags, they swap the pot as well.

Critiques is a source of improvement. Also, it is not your friend getting the critiques, it is his way of doing business. Nothing personal. He is a nice guy. I wish a nice guy to succeed esp he got so many beautiful trees

I have the same observation. More than ones, when I agreed to his asking price straightaway, he looked sad and lost. May be he thinks: "this guy does not bargain, I must have named a price too low."
