Thanks Mark, Terry and Beano, I'm really looking forward to bringing this into shape now, it's been causing me a bit of heartache for quite awhile, then it struck me that Mike's "Golden rules" and Watto's "get rid of the boring stuff" really needed to be looked at more closely.

Another year, another container....and another mistake when potting... /sigh
I need to swing it around a little and tilt it a bit more forward I suspect....

Millimetres matter but perhaps at the margin of your own high standards. I find this tree supremely attractive as it sits right now! Good job - I can almost feel the crisp morning air and the autumn breeze blowing through this tree...
