I have only two of these glaze fired so far. Some how 4 more pots missed getting into the kiln even though they are only small and would have been great fillers :lost:
Oh well apparently there should be one more firing before Xmas so Maybe Mrs Pup will still get an Xmas present :fc:
Although it was not as I expected I do like the way the glazes turned out this time. Can't wait for the rest

I like them too Brett. I think they look great.

It's very difficult with high fired glazes to get exactly what you want. But, that's half the fun now, isn't it?

I look forward to seeing the other pots once they have been fired.

Cheers,
Paul

Thanks Paul, Maybe I put it on too thick, this is how it was expected to turn out as on one of my first ever pots. A design I lifted from another potter, maybe Dale? Called a quick and easy pot :P

Hello Bret,
I really like the first on on this page, but the glaze looks a bit shiny. I have recently attended a pottery seminar, where an internatinal artist told us that he used sheets of the same clay as what ever he was firing and made little stilts ofclay to sit the piece on the clay slab. I thinks its a lot of work, but if you are still haveing problems it may be worth trying.
I have just been making a few new pots, with lots of different designs. I will probably fire them late January.

Hi Lynette

This was meant to be a matt green as the last pic shows. But In general I am not so happy with some of the gloss finishes I have been getting. Maybe one day I will get serious and stop relying on pot luck  ;)
Oh and I need to try some of that glass etch to see how that goes getting rid of the shine, or leave them out in the weather for several years :palm:

Always look forward to seeing ya new pots. Good luck with the firing :fc:

Oh and I didn't make the blue one but it was given to me as old stock laying around and I drilled a hole in it and glazed it

The first pot is beautifully finished & the glaze/oxides work a treat.

The third pot keeps drawing me back to look again & again. At first I didn't like it but the more I look..... I want to hold it... touch the glaze... see how it looks in different lighting & from different angles... :tu:

The new pots look good Brett.

Your construction techniques and glaze applications are continuing to progress.

I like the first pot the best. This is an oval, correct?

Keep up the good work.

Paul
