I spoke to Selby about there web site and the need to update the days they are closed. He said that the web company has been letting them down. But if any travels long distance to find he gate closed jsut to ring them and if they are home. He will come and open the gate so you have not wasted you time.

that has just re instated my trust of the nursery, i am glad they have the time for people to do something like that. i actually rang bonsai place i think it is in nerangba when i was there and they wouldnt travel 5 minutes down the road to do so.
its a shame that the people that look after there site havent updated it properly it would save them a lot of grief and potentially lost customers.

G'day
About 10 to 12 years ago, several years before I became hooked on bonsai a friend took me to a nursery on the sunshine coast up past Buderim. Nether he or myself can remember its address. Just wondering if anyone knows if it still exists and /or were it is.

Hopefully heading down to the gold coast nurseries soon, if the boss gets back from the hairdressers that is, I'll let you know how they are.
If anyone else is going to be there let me know

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the reply. I went looking for that nursery in White rock a couple of weekends ago actually

Turns out they closed down 4yrs ago - so not long after you visited i guess.
I have found a small range of bonsai and stock at Bunnings on the north of Cairns so that's a start!
Cheers,
Agnes

hi agnes,
be careful with the big "B" stock and trees, try and avoid those that are in pots already. i have only ever seen two good trees from my local and one i got the other one died due to lack of care and knowledge before i could get it. being so far north i would definately be looking at figs, they are great to work with and you should be able to collect a lot of older specimens
