dont be afraid to ask the bonsai nurseries down south to take some pics of trees that you ask for say you want a elm for example, and you want one of 40cm tall with a decent thick trunk with movement, send an email asking nicely if the have any, if you could have a pic if they do and a price as you will find some places are quite happy to post i have bought trees like that before as i am not near a bonsai nursery either, the closest one to me is about 4 hours drive to bris.
