I got this Schinus from Chris & Marie's ("Hello hello!") at Campbellfield. It was one of many they had marked down from $100 to $50, and this was the only one which showed any movement.

I cannot really tell you what conditions they like, as I don't think I treated the tree properly to obtain optimal growth. KetutG (the new owner) shared with me a scan of an article from his local Bonsai club newsletter that mentioned keeping the tree in a tray of water over summer. Perhaps he would be so good as to post some of the care info here...

PS: Next time you're at the Melbourne Zoo, check out the awesome Peppercorn in the middle of the main avenue - it's a truly inspirational tree.

Here is the article from my clubs newsletter that fly mentioned.
The peppercorn tree has a long growing season and it likes water. They are also liable to develop dieback at random.
The trees around my neighbourhood still have flowers and it's almost the start of winter!
