Thanks Brett - good to go from my side.
My Azaleas are looking forward to a repot after they finish flowering. Hope the goodies get here in time.
Regards
Steve

Hey Minh
I just potted up another Azalea in Kanuma. I will post a thread about it soon as I did some other work to it as well
All my Azaleas in Kanuma seem to be doing good

Scott from the Canberra club was looking at ordering in some this year but I think there was a problem with the supply?

Not a high priority for me at the moment but the discussion held my interest since I first heard about it! Since I've not had a great deal of success in getting any Akadama I haven't worried about it too much, but ...
I found this online from a Hydroponix supplier and just wondering if there is a big difference (apart from the country of manufacture):
Canna Aqua Clay
this is what it says about it:
CANNA AQUA CLAY PEBBLES are baked clay pellets that form an ideal substrate for use by experienced growers. Thanks to their unique structure, CANNA AQUA CLAY PEBBLES offer the ideal basis for growers who want to control the application of nutrients and the humidity level of their plants throughout the entire process of cultivation in a simple way. CANNA AQUA CLAY PEBBLES are manufactured from special types of clay that have a low soluble salt content. Because of this, they are particularly suited for use in hydroponic cultivation systems.
This might be a suitable substitute, but I don't know enough to comment!?!?

Depends if they are high fired or not.
Akadama will allow the roots to perforate the clay and as such it will break down after a few years.
Give it a try and see

Thx Ken,
according to the advert it said it is High fired, which had me worried at first as i believe the Akadama is not so I wasn't sure if this product is suitable or not.
