Any interest in an Australian Bonsai Magazine?

Seen something in print or on TV? Have a good book to review? Know something others don't? Post here.

I like those ideas Mick

I just have not found the time to subscribe yet. I had to wait until I went down the library to print out the form then I will have to head to the post office for mail order and post. Don't want to complain but I wanted to suggest an easier "online" option for subscribing.
Just got a new printer today so not that big an issue for me any more I should get it all done soon, but I wonder if setting up an online solution would help increase the subscription numbers. Have no idea just how hard that is though?

Hi Mick,

Thank you for your reply. Great idea and I will pass it on.
There are feature stories on Clubs planned, the first edition features Bendigo Bonsai Club, but I will pass on your suggestion to feature a tree from the NBPC.

I will PM you regarding June 18th.

Keep them coming please. Here or by PM.

Cheers

I’m very keen to subscribe. I have printed the form, just have to try and get to a post office for a mail order. Working from 7am – 6pm and most Saturdays makes this a little difficult though :P
An online/credit car option would be much easier, but we work with what we have in front of us :)

Kym, it sounds like we need bpay, or some bank account details so members can pay via the net with an online membership form, this could be easily done for computer minded people.

I am finally going down the Post office today to get a money order for the hard copy subscription. I also called the bank about getting a check book. The misses thought that was the funniest thing. They are so old fashioned she reckons.
But at 90c a check that works out cheaper than using a money order when the odd occasion like this arises.

Has the second issue come out yet ?

My apologies for being so slack with getting on board

Hi All
Just wondering if anyone has received the September/October AABC Bonsai magazine yet.
I think this would be the 4th publication.
Thanks

So its just come to me attention recently that the AABC Bonsai magazine was discontinued a while back. I must have been living under a rock not hearing about it sooner.

When I first heard about the magazine last year, unfortunately I never got around to subscribing last year because of my own busy schedule at the time. I'm kicking myself now that I didn't subscribe anyway and support the magazine earlier.

Its sad that Australia cant maintain Bonsai magazine of its own, to showcase our own work and native trees.

I think it would be great. And having a focus for australian conditions whether from Qld or Tas.
I think there is so much is learn from seeing many bonsai styles and gaining insight to 'Australian' way of doing things, a great way to have advertising of clubs, potters, nursery stock etc.
a lot of work I guess to set up and formulate but would be worth the money in the end.
