How is this beast coming along now Bodhi?
I recently dug one from my yard but due to the sandy soil falling off it lost a lot of roots (should have been more careful). It will live but it has only shot a couple of buds...I suspect there will be a bit of die back.
Anyway, I enjoyed reading this thread from the start again.

Just a tangled mass of new growth Dario. A total defoliate and rewire this year (read, soon) and i will go back to a shorter apex on the tree. It has given me so much branch selection that i will be scratching my head as to where to go with it.

I had a friend visiting today and took use of the friendship to help me repot my honeysuckle (hey, what are friends for) I have wanted to try it in this pot for a while now and thankfully it fitted straight in, well almost. I will look at it for the next year to see if i like it, as it is a little over the top, and so is the tree. It is hard to see with the same tree in the background but to heavy to take down to the photo area. it will be rewired and defoliated this Summer so i can see its structure more easily.
As a general rule i dont do " Selfie's" but it gives you a dimension of size with me in the foreground.

Always loved this tree, but I feel like the pot perhaps is a bit tight for that base... Almost gives a constricted feel to it. I am partial to wider shallower pots for deciduous trees though...

Still an excellent piece of material mate, well done and thank you for sharing.

I really like the bark and trunk movement. I like the look and size of the pot and hope that it will grow on you over the coming year or two. Good progression, thanks.
PS - I remember you as a bit better looking than the guy in the photo????

Love the pot! I think it's a great fit.

The textures at the base of the trunk and the textures on the pot match well to me - it has to be a very complicated tree to balance that pot! When the top fills out it will balance both the base and the pot very well. Thanks for posting.

The idea of getting it into this size pot is to make the tree look impressive. I think this achieves it and when i repost it wired and styled again I would love to hear your thoughts then.

Hopefully i can make that happen this Summer when i get help to take it down to the Studio. The tree is 60 plus kilo's and awkward.

I think it will grow on me to Watto, unfortunately the pot is quite old and a little brittle so we will see. The lighting for the "Selfie" was not "spot on" because i am still extremely handsome. the only quality i have more in abundance of is Humility.

Thanks Mr "G" the prunus are thriving and flowered well. Repot soon and wire and i will post progress.

I stripped and wired the Honeysuckle this week and made some much needed changes. This tree tests me at every turn. I have two fronts i need to decide on and i am a little peeved that the back branch is not developing like i want it too. Maybe the tree is reducing flow to it as it has done with other sections. Hope not
