aaron_tas I think we need to organise some POM POMS for your next post

As I have said before, this is a very common pottery technique, taught to most potters quite early on. I was taught it on my 5 or 6 th lesson.
For anybody who is interested in the technique there is a good disscussion and photos on the Ceramics art daily web site. Be warned it does take quite a bit of practice to achieve the type of results pat does.

I did sign up for the newsletter. It came out in about the 3-4 issue I got. That is freaky. Are you sure you did not set this up . It explains the tech that I was keen to try. The same as the link Asus gave. Applying sodium silicate before heating the outside with a blow torch so the outside of the clay is a different consistancy to the inner layer.
I can't wait till pottery club starts up again this year so I can try this. I hope the ladies have sodium silicate or that may be the next challenge.

You can buy Sodium Sillicate from a potters supplies shop or ring Walkers Ceramics and order it and have it posted to you. Penny.
