Bulk reels of Bonsai wire?

Hi all, I was wondering if any of you knew where to source bonsai wire in bulk? I've seen large reels of the stuff being used in Bonsai nurseries all over the place.

Buying small 100/200gm spools is just not cost effective :crikey:

Hi mate,
I just bought 14 rolls of different sizes, all 500g at $9.95 each.
I got it from orient bonsai in Vic. They call it clearance wire on eBay.
Oh, it was about $20.00 post to NSW.

Just be mindful that the cheap wire is usually sourced from China and defintely fades and becomes silver in very short time. If you are using that cheap wire for initial stylings then that is fine and even I do that, but when it comes to a point where I intend to display my trees or they are at a level to be shown I only use the Japanese aluminium wire or anodised copper if I can get it. The Japanese wire does not fade and stays that dark brown colour over time.

I have been using Orient bonsai wire for years.
It is of good quality and does not fade at all.
I highly recommend the wire.

When the wire does fade it is a lot easier to see, so there is less chance of it being lost to cut in, especially on smaller trees where this could be a big problem.

I have found that most Bonsai nurseries sell the wire in Bulk, as it is easier for them. If they have to make smaller rolls, or cut to length it cost them time, so consequently you have to pay, more for smaller amounts.
