Hi Chris , i have a few Gardenia's ,in training i think they are radicans . Would like to see plenty of pics from all angles .What ferts do you use

. Like Azalea's i have a little trouble with yellow leaves when grown as Bonsai , Somethimg keeps eating them also and cant find any tell tale signs of the critters or locate a pest .The only thing i can nail down was all the wet weather last year for the yellow leaves .All my Azalea's grow well in the garden not so good in Bonsai pots .Be watching out for the pics .
Cheers Alpineart

I have 2 at home and are both starting to flower now
one is in Diatomite mix, and the other in Ray Nesci mix and i will repot it after flowering. I did not repot last year.
I use Miracle grow / Charlie carp liquid every fortnight or so, and Neutrog Sudden Impact on the soil surface.

Usually a result of incorrect fertiliser & magnesium deficiency, the latter easily treated with Epsom salts.

Burke does mention nematodes as a possible cause of yellow leaves but I've never found them on mine both in the garden and in pots. The problem for me has always been the magnesium deficiency. I use Powerfeed and Seasol on mine plus the Epsom salts.
Cheers.

Hi Rocky
took some pics of mine today and if you do not mind I will post here for you to see.
Mine get a few yellow leaves, but I always just thought they were the old ones dying off. Never worried about them
they were both collected from my Mother in laws during a garden reno a few years ago and have been recovering ever since. The one in diatomite has recovered much quicker of the 2.

Hi Ken, they are 2 nice little trees, yes and I think the yellow leaves are just the old ones also. I bought mine from a local nursery about 3 years ago, for $12.50.
