My semi-cascade Pyracantha is currently in flower so I thought I would share the beauty.
As always, thoughts, suggestions and comments welcome.

This is great. How old is it? (That's a loaded question, sorry )

Semi Cascade? do you think the upper branch fights somewhat with the style then?

With that upper branch coming back over the top, my eyes get drawn up there and then back to the right rather than to the end of the semi cascade foliage?

I'm with Ken. The top branch seems out of character with the semi cascade. Maybe if you grew a third branch on the bottom to develop three distinct levels it would work but then it wouldn't quite be a semi cascade. Having said that the plant looks heathy with plenty of flowers and branches to play with.

Me three (with Ken) I would try and either bring that branch up to make an informal upright or down to make a full cascade. Of course Firethorn wood is brittle and doesn't really like moving

Thanks for your comments and suggestions.
I have had a look or two at getting rid of the top branch but I think it looks like it might fall over without it - the trees stability suffers. It does need some balance, it might not be the branch that is there now, but I think it needs something.
I will run this theory past you - westerners look from left to right and easterners look from right to left. So if you are a westerner it is difficult for you to see something on the right or top, and then progress "happerly" to the left. Its a theory, do you think it has any credibility?

I Am of European ( british) stock and prefer to have a tree move from right to left.

Maybey because I am right handed and hold a smaller tree in the right and can then feel the end of the tree with my left?

these and cotoneaster are my fav flowering and fruiting--I think I would try to twist that top back to the left( over a couple of seasons)--
I think the base "looks " strong enough to hold the semi design as the" precarious pyracantha".

Great to see the comments on the top branch position - it is something that did not hit me first up at my stage of the game.

One thing however I would try some other - more stable looking pot ..
I think that the one you have looks like a knock down - pop up affair and gives no sense of stability.

Hi Watto , left hander's are more creative than right hander's so i'm told . A lot of people who view my tree's jerry straight away i'm a molly dooker , actually ambidextrous with a lot of things . Its hard to look through someone else's eyes , that's for sure . I would like to see this tree move from right to left , any chance of tilting it and taking a pic , covering the pot of course , for an old fella .

I have a few of these and i twist and turn in all directions but still haven't decided on a front or style for most of them . I'm not critiquing just curious as to how it would look .

OK, I'll bite.

Good twisty trunk, and the branches out to the left all seem to have the same kind of twistiness. The branch out the top on the other hand seems relatively straight, off in a different direction, and sits off in the distance a bit. It doesn't seem to relate to the rest of the tree, for mine. Bottom 2/3rds is very strong. Good tree. Maybe layer the top for a mini? Just my thoughts.

Alpine - I took a pic from the other side so now it moves the other way. Is that what you meant?
Folks - you almost have me convinced that I should give that top branch a bit of snip, snip. Maybe a look from the back will give you another thought?

Hi Watto , thanks for the pic , i actually meant point the top to the ground , basically lay the pot on its side almost like its in a cresent pot . I need one of those rotating tools like on my picture site so i can turn pics upside down . I was thinking of turning the screen upside down , but on 1 leg i might drop it . Cheers Alpine

No reason, why the apex cant be wired to the ground.. creating a full cascade
