I haven't read all of it yet, but it seems very informative from an artist's point of view. Often bonsai texts focus more on the horticulture side of things, and the how-to's, not so much the artistic foundations as explained on this website.

Thanks for the links, the first article is really interesting & I will be having another read once i have gone thru the rest of the pages. As an artist in other mediums it has given me some new ideas to explore.

Bonsai has always been an art form, acceptance and recognition as such can only be furthered by such a detailed & thorough analysys like any other artwork would be subjected to. For me however, turning what we do into a recognised art means many designs become too tight perfect & consistent in every line. This is not something I see much of in nature , which is what I am trying to recreate in miniature with my trees.
