Hello All
I rescued these 2 figs from death at work today. They were pulled off a rock wall in a construction area. I have tried to keep the roots wet as much as possible.
I have nailed the 2 pieces back together with zinc plated nails. I have also planted the small tree into a pot. Waht should I do with the large 1? I have bought a XL pot but it will not fit.
Small tree
Large tree

Steve, can you remove the bottom section of trunk under the roots ,then it will most likely fit in the pot

Hey mate,
Why not just plant the 2 separately?

Just cut it off below the roots at a 45 degree angle and it will root being a fig. I also think it's a ficus virens and not a benji.

Yes, just cut off below the roots. shouldn't have any trouble in serviving.
It is not F.Benjamina and its not F. virens, It looks like F. Watkinsiana (the common strangler fig)

I would also reduce the foliage by 80 % as the tree will struggle to support all those leaves with the minimal roots you have.
I have collected a fig growing out of the top of a chimney on a house recently. It was growing between the mortar of the bricks. I reduced the foliage, pruned the roots and potted into an open mix. She is growing new foliage already in 4 weeks.
