I am fairly new to bonsai (3 years) and this is one of my first attempts at bonsai and making a bonsai progression series...
It is nothing special but its cool to see how it has progressed over the years.. i hope to keep this progression going year to year.

This is it in late 2008, straight off the shelf from bunnings. :reading: :palm: :fc:

October 2009, after some reading and research i made a grow pot and tried my hand at wiring.....

August 2010. Starting to bulk up a little.... (my only real style design was to keep all branches coming out horizontal to make a radial canopy.. (broom style'?).....

November 2011. After a long time in this grow pot i am happy with the trunk/base and start planning its return to a bonsai pot.

December 2011. I adore this pot!! and i hope the tree will show it off! (Note: branches are messy and need to be wired badly but it will have to wait for the roots to take hold in this new pot).....

I am thinking about getting more progressions of my trees together..... I have lots more but this is one of the oldest.

Any thoughts & advice most welcome.

:gday: NS, really nice progress mate, the trunk is starting to look good. I like the flow of the tree ,especially where it leaves the ground however i believe it needs a leader and crown on this tree, I'd most likely wire the left main branch up and go from there. good work mate.

Thanks mate... For now i will just let it find its feet. Then yes it needs work on the top.... BUT, any path i take in achieving a single leader from the trunk will result in a large scar... i can see your idea in wiring the left branch up and removing the right.... many options... i have some time to decide.
Cheers mate

Thanks mate.. a grow pot with fast draining soil and regular feeding has worked well.

I didn't say anything about removing the right branch at all :lost: , it could prob be wired slightly down out and up at the end,

To achieve a strong new leader one of the two major trunks will at least need to be reduced quite a bit!!! (i know you didn't mean for removal of the right branch>> that was my mind ticking :))
(i cant do anything to this till at least April.) [Time to ponder wire options.] Thanks.
