They move out of their pots late at night and eat .. and destroy all legitimate bonsai in their vicinity.

Here i was thinking a peace lilly in a bonsai pot would be out landish

So what do y'all think . . .

We start a program called "Extreme Bonsai Taper Makeover". It wil be aired on Discovery Channel in opposition to Orange County Choppers and Pimp my Ride. Our families can hand over our sub-standard trees to the trunk chop brigade and then tell us they were stolen. We can post heartfelt stolen tree posts on Ausbonsai, and then whilst someone cons us into thinking they are athe local plod, and the rest of us Ausbonsai'ers snigger knowingly to ourselves, the choppers will take the trees down to their first branch. We'll then get a phonecall from a victorious detective, and be invited down to the local bonsai nursery to collect our old sentimental tree. Then when the Extreme Taper Makeover is made known to us, and we see the massive chop and incredible new taper (as per Bhodi's tree above), we can dissolve into tears and hug our sneaky relatives and the pretty presenter lady in tight jeans, or the handsome hunk with the chisseled jaw, who we now realise was actually not the local policeman.

Hi Bodhi , mate i have seen some shocking attempts at bonsai with unsuitable bases in my time and this certainly isn't one of them .Take an Olive or a lignatuber on a gum and you can see a tree in time ..How quick does this plant grow ? Is that an actual bulb as such or a tuber ? How long does it flower for ? Does it have multi trunks/shoots ? What style do you have in mind Semi Cascade Slanting ? You can send me a bag of them there Potoatoes any day . I like it uniqueness , dare to be different with something outside the realms of ordinary Bonsai and if you show it ,they will knock it . Yuo have stired up my curiosity thats for sure .

Sorry you may have misunderstood my . It just seems when I or any one else suggest a succulent could make a nice bonsai it laughed at or even shouted down as impossable. So I say go for it.

You have shattered me Chris No worries, I posted the potato with the intent to have a bit of fun and hope nobody is taking this seriously. We sometimes get too serious about our trees and this is just me taking the piss out of myself. But you never kn ow, this guy could be pride of place at Kokofu one day
