PJ fig - trim

Thought I'd post up a fig that i'm part way into giving a bit of a trim / tidy up. Still have to do the bottom branches and some wiring of the tree but thats for another day!
First image is the tree back in 2009 -just growing the lower branches
The others are before and after the hair cut!
Sorry for the poor photos... taken from phone, I'll try and put some better ones up after wiring.
Had the PJ for about 16 or so years - collected from the ground. The early years it didnt grow much....mainly because I didn't know what i was doing...ie should have been put into a large grow box / pot ....oops! anyhow gues I learnt the long / hard way!!

Thanks... forgot to post dimensions
Height once it fills out a bit is roughly 400 - 450mm. The trunks a tricky one because of its snaking movement...roughly 150mm wide part way up?

Hi Matlea
This PJ is just so life like .... feels like I'm sitting in the city maybe the Domain or Botanical Gardens.
Now going to get a cut lunch and sit down and have another quiet look.
Cheers

Hi matlea,
I like this bonsai. Are you planning a smaller pot later on?
Regards.

Thanks... Have had two thoughts...
1. would like to put in a smaller pot in the future. This step will involve some heavy root pruning as the main roots are quite long.. and thick.
2. I read one of theposts on here that involves toothpick and hormone to stimulate roots. The aim would then be to grow more roots off these main roots to simulate the butress roots of the full size figs.... at least in their spread. This would then fill the pot. (would probably put in a shallower pot).

another year on and another trim and tidy up. Next time I'll repot and have a look at the roots, might try to lift it a bit to expose more of them.

awesome tree! So natural looking. Could we see a pic from the back/could the back make a better front?

Thanks... Ok I'll get some pics up from all sides. I have thought a bout the back being the front a few times.
The black things are containers to put fertiliser in... Was just trying them out. They supposed to stop the fert pellets from breaking down and clogging up the soil.

This is a wonderful tree with a great future. Would you consider getting rid of the branch that is directly in front and centre. It is a bit jarring to the eye.

Here are some quick shots of the sides and back. Still needs work on the rear left roots but given time the small ones should hopefully thicken an fix this area. Plenty left to do!
Might try and reduce and adjust the front branch hopefully with some back budding.
