Dayne's topic about the Red Dragon got me thinking. Does anyone know of any other good bonsai nurseries to visit on the way up to Qld from Sydney? :lost:

Re: bonsai nurseries. Have just been on to the WIKI and realised that Bonsai Artist Tree, Belrose is no longer in business.
Does anyone know if the nurseries listed for Qld are still operating as I don't want to waste my time searching for them and being disappointed? How do I tell someone in authority to take the above nursery off the list for NSW?

Gday
Depending on how much time you have and how far you want to drive.
They are all still open except for Bonsai World at Mudgeeraba. It will take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours drive from the Gold Coast to Morayfeild.

Also I would check the opening times for them so you don't go on a day that they are closed.

Thanks, Andrew. You may have just saved me from a few hours of driving. Good idea about checking opening times. :tu2:

I know Bonsai Northside is closed on Tues and Wed. Australian Bonsai Grower is closed on Wed but not shore about the ones on the Gold Coast.

Thanks for pointing that out witchstreet. I've updated the WIKI to reflect that Bonsai Artist Tree, Belrose is no longer in business.

Over the next day or two I'll attempt to update each listing with opening times, contact numbers etc but bere inmind that this will be on comfirmation of details from each nursery to ensure acuracy

Any new nurseries or other changes that you notice let me know and I can update or alturnativly create a wiki account and contribute :)

Cheers Matt

Hi

Last January I visited the Defined Garden on Chevron Island. The nursery is about 5 to 10 min drive from Surfers Paradise.

Not a huge area but very friendly, from memory I don't think it is open Sunday but they do have a website.

:imo: Worth a look.

A great post Witchsteet, I happen to be heading up that way on Wednesday and you have just reminded me that I should look around at the local nurseries while I am there ,trees should grow quite well up there in all the heat and rain. :hooray:
