The Willow is indeed a wonderful tree and total inspiration for the one i am working on. If it comes out as good or better i will be a happy man :tu: i am following his instructions to a "T" so :fc: Of course a tree like this does not come easy and i have the highest regard for what it takes to produce something of this caliber.

im sure following his instructions will give you quite a good tree in the end.
are you finding the techniques he uses to be giving you positive results?

The only problem i am having to learn is that his instruction is in a totally different hemisphere. I basically double the water and food and the modelling clay weighing down the branches is difficult. I am trailing bird netting tied down tightly at the base of the tree to make it weep. If it dries out even once i lose branching.

the faster growth we have in that case would make it more difficult to keep the growth under control then and keeping it in the weeping fashion would be more difficult.
the clay id imagine would be a bit temperamental but sounds like an interesting idea using the tie downs, should work.

yes i think thats the main task, keeping the water consistent

i did have a few willows but i ended up giving them away, they were small cuttings but
i should start one myself sometime, theres plenty of places i can get cuttings
good luck with it :fc:

Hi Andrew they all work on the first Link for me, but did not try the second.

Some quite lovely trees and the winner is a stunner, but fearing to open a hornets nest :o I will Zip any further comments.
