Hay all
This is My smallest cutting of 8.
The growths is less than twenty days old, I have started tip pruning to encourage new sub branches But I am confused with the ramification and tip pruning :?:
Should I tip prune or let the branch grow to the size I want and then cut back to a Bud.

Hi Booga, i know it is a cliche but you need to get it out of that pot and grow it on. They do make O.K Bonsai but are very hard work in their habits. While it is growing on pinch out the foliage occasionally. I have one i have been working on for a few years and is starting to look the goods.

Thanks Bod. I am using the willow for experimentation as they grow so fast, I want to learn about branch ramification and when and where to prune.
hopefully i will end up with a nice tree from my larger cuttings, some are about 2" diam at the base
I am starting to learn which branches to keep and crop concerning Willows so thats good.. I do intend to keep that tree in a small pot just to see if I can get the ramification and a nice fine branch structure happening. Cheers Dave
