Hello all I am a new member to this site and I have been into bonsai for about 2yrs.
I recently dug a few Cotonester suckers from along side a railway and potted them up.
There are several small trees that will be fine after some wire and trim but I have one plant that is more difficult.(see pics)
Any advise on this would be great, I'm lost on this one!! Ty

Hi :gday:
i am a relative beginner but I found joining a club has been the best thing i could have done to further my bonsai skills. The two in WA are the Bonsai Workshop and Bonsai Society of Western Australia - look em up. :reading:

As for your tree - from my newbie's point of view, I can't see any potential in that tree but other more experienced practitioners may have a different opinion. it has a lot of long slender branches coming from what appears to be a single area. Maybe cut right back and see what springs up? :?: :?: :lost: again, the caveat is that I am pretty new at this and don't have any experience of the growth habits of Cotoneasters. :2c:

good luck

Adrian

Yes I am thinking that too. It may just be worth while just cutting it dwn to one trunk and waiting for some new growth.
Thanks for the heads up about the clubs :tu: I will check em' out.

Hi :gday:

No worries at all mate. Like I said, I am learning so much and as yet only have a modest collection of pre-bonsai trees and young trees that might be good in a few years. I belong to the Bonsai Workshop which meet on the last Sat of every month. Come along and share your knowledge.

cheers

Adrian
