Hi guys

I have a large 4 inch Lilly pilly layer that has just grown a sufishent amount of roots and I was wondering if it should be ok to remove it this late in the season or should I leave until spring ?

I actually Put on a layer on an Oak last night and will take off when ready in about 2 months with no worries in Sydney

If you are like me and a sheltered warmish spot then OK. We shoud have another 2 months growing here easily.

Hi Paulneill,
As Ken has said, it should be fine. Give a drink of Seasol and keep it in dapple shade until you start to see new growth. You can give it a drink of Seasol each week. When you see some good new growth, start to expose it to more sunshine.

Regards Ray

I'm surprised that you are planning to do that layer so late ken would the oak tree not just sit dormant until spring . being a deciduous tree ?
