Hi all
Hear is a pic of some leaves on my Maple..could somebody please tell if these are seeds or a problem with the tree.

Yes seeds, i think there called samara's, they fall to the ground like little helichopters .

Thanks Craig , new to maples..can i pick them off now and plant them.below is the tree in question , how can i thicken up the side without many leaves . cheers

Hard to tell from the picture but they look a bit green to pick. Generally wait till they dry a little.

Josh, i can't even see the side without much foliage , but i would think next spring you should get some new shoots appearing on the trunk on that side and you'll need to grow those new shoots into branches. Most likely need to cut back the branches on the strong side in late winter to force some good backbudding.

Also make your you turn your tree periodically so that each side gets equal light. I try and turn my trees 90 degrees at least fortnightly. That way one side is not more dominant than the other in growth.
