A Lilac

In november of 2009 I was asked to remove a large lilac from a friends garden. As it was in full leaf I had no idea how it will cope so i cut it down to the first branch & hoped for the best. Spring 2010 I pulled it from the 50cm pot & placed it untouched on a large round platter made of resin, the intention being to do something with it & pot up, it didnt happen & the tree grew happily until october 2011 when I again got it out to do something with it. The weeds were cleared & the roots found.

Thats as far as it got until january when i finally pulled it out of the corner again & gave it some fresh soil. I post some new pics when I get motivated to heft it out of the corner.

Today, the first pic will most likely be the front unless I do something major to it. Die back in the live wood has ceased & by next season it should be ready for some carving.
