Jack Tripovich

Hi there,
Just thought I would post some info on the late Jack Tripovich, he was very renown in Melbourne for growing super sized bonsai. He invented the rapid grow method of growing trees in polystyrene boxes heavily fertilized to promote rapid growth. Here's a couple of pictures of his very old radiata pines that are in my care.
This is my radiata pine that I've had for 25 years. It was collected in 1973 by Jack. I've radically redesigned it since it's been in my care. This is quite a large tree, the trunk is as thick as my arm.
This is a close up of another one of Jack's radiata pine group planting. It's a bunjin style. The scissors gives you an indication of the size of the trees. This is an enormous group, 1.3m high by 1.2m in length.
Here is a view from 2 metres back. Again this is a very old group collected in the early 70s.
I'd also like to make a comment on Jack's handmade pots. He made hundreds of them from 1975 till 1990. They were made out of brick clay and fired in the Nu-Brick factory where Jack worked as a supervisor of the brick company in the kiln area. They were very rustic in appearance and the signature is always found on the bottom, which is J.E.T. for Jack Elias Tripovich, and also the date. This pot is from 1987.
Here is a side profile. They're great pots for literati style bonsai. I'm sure many of you have these pots as there was literally hundreds made over the years.
I know the hacker has a lot of photographs he might post in this thread.
