Eucalyptus polyanthemos

I have been working on this tree for some time now. Not one of my favourites but it is my wife’s.
One of my main objectives with this tree is to reduce leave size. I have tried defoliation without success. The leaves came back as big as tea cup saucers

Nice looking tree!
Did you try partial defoliation.... Keep the larger leaves temporarily as these will use more energy while the areas of defoliation grow back... Also keep small leaves or avoid week areas. Then cut the large leaves off. Not sure if it will work on this type of tree but read it in one of the magazines dealing with shohin size, and seems to work for my figs. See what other comments come in ..... Like the tree!
