I thinned this tree a few days ago because it lacked definition. It was nice and healthy but felt like topiary, very full pads which were nice but a little boring.
Where should I go now?
(I will post pictures of the new tree tomorrow)

I would remove or Jin the first left branch, it far too lick for the trunk size.
Try and bend the trunk to the left to get movement in it and that will lift the top right branch as a new apex?
The bottom right branch may go as it the long bare bit is an issue, but the branch above can come down to fill the space

You are right on the money Ken,
I have left a few branches because I am thinking of changeing the front.
A new drum pot was picked up at the Bendigo Show.

Ouch !!! the tree was in the first left hand branch and would have gained far better movement and taper in future developement. How ever what you have done is definately an improvement.

Thanks Ant.
Not at all, here we have a classic example of what you cannot see in a photo.
This (ex-branch) had little foliage in the first half with poor taper before it swings toward the viewer and back toward the trunk in a horseshoe shape.
It was always going to be the first chopped.
