[SOLD] PYRACANTHA FULL CASCADE
Posted: April 18th, 2012, 10:53 am
PYRACANTHA - full cascade style. Red berries
Won first prize at the 2012 Sydney Royal Easter Show in Fruiting/Flowering class
$250 for the tree
$25 for the indoor display stand
This tree is in the medium stage of development. For a person who likes bonsai it is a showy tree and with regular tip pruning can be a lovely bonsai.
For the enthusiast the berries should be removed and the tree allowed to rest. After flowering in spring 2012 the spent flowers should be removed to allow the tree to put its energy into developing well defined foliage pads. The following year let it flower and berry away. It is a robustly healthy plant and flowers and berries profusely on all branches. The trunk has doubled in thickness in the two years I have been working with the tree and it will continue to thicken and give gravitas to this cascade. The nebari is interesting and adds to the age and the yamidori feel of the tree.
Pick Up only from Bexley in St George Area of Sydney.
