I think you are going in the right direction with this one.
P.S. I don't want to know what is in that bottle.

It's apple juice

.
Chris it's mainly from branches and twigs I didn't want, do you think I removed to much foliage? I've never had an issue with removing this much in the past

Hi Elias, you have taken way too much foliage off the branches. You should have left foliage all the way into the trunk which would have enabled the branches to be stepped.

Craigw60.. The tree was wired up first and only then where branches a twigs removed I think the photo is deceiving in that it shows all the twining on the top branches pushed to the pads... The only twigs that were removed where those that even after wiring and bending where far to lanky...

Firstly good onya for improving the trunk line !!! I would still like to see more movement in the 1st half of the trunk. tighten up the bend .
To me like Craig it looks like too much foliage out of branches, sometimes those lankier inner shoots are your way to bring the foliage back in closer to the trunk if pruned / energy balanced correctly. Not to late to pop foliage back closer to the trunk. All in all you have still improved this tree and will learn alot from this excercise.

With a young tree like yours its better to leave lots of foliage even if it is a bit scruffy, you will find with heaps of food even the lanky shoots will bulk out once they are getting some light.
One of the great features of juniper bonsai is that you can create beautiful and clearly stepped branches, in order to do that you need foliage running right back to the trunk.
