Pinus densiflora

Hi all,

I thought I might post this tree for some thoughts.

The way I see it is the tree has a bad case of the zig zags and a few straight sections of trunk. In your opinion is it beyond any chance of a bonsai? Also the point below the graft does'nt seem to thicken as much as the trunk. Problem? Can I fix it or should the tree just be retired?

Cheers

Hi Squizzy,
I have always wondered if you could airlayer P. densiflora 'Low Glow" and get it on it's own roots, or if you can grow it from cuttings, it's small dense foliage and fine needles are a pretty nice incentive to try. These are on my to do list for winter. Perhaps you could give it a go yourself if all else fails.

Cheers,
Mojo

If you want to retire this tree, I would happily take it off your hands ;)
