I live on te coast of south Sydney. Since we are approaching winter I would love to collect some wild trees. Just wondering if anybody goes Hunting for trees in my area and what they find?

Howdy it would be a good idea for you to contact your closest bonsai club :tu: :tu: you will find they have organized digs that you be able to tag along to hope yu find some great trees to work on :D

I'm actually a member of my local club so I will have to ask. Just curious, what type of material do you usually find in my type of area. ( I hope that's not a stupid question :palm: )

Generally Sydney has an abundance of Privet, and Olives that are wild and if you check out the local bush areas you may find some worth collecting. Remember that you cannot just go and dig unless private property and the owners allow you to do so.

Council property or road verges are viable options but you will need to get a permit or approval first.
Houses being demolished and or redeveloped are great opportunities too.
