I just had a call from my mentor who is in Melbourne for the convention, can I find a transport company to ship a tree or 2 to Newcastle. Can anyone suggest a company?

Thanks in advance
Matt

Hi MattA , i use Aussie Post for items less than 600mmx600mm and under 20 kgms .They will send smaller packages not exceeding 1 metre in length , very reasonable prices compared to freighters . I haven't been able to find a reliable freight company in Vic , prepared to ship Bonsai or live tree's .

Cheers Alpineart

Hey Alpine,
I use Aust post for lots of trees but this one is a bit on the big side. Growing in a polybox & standing over 2' tall :palm: It would probably work out cheaper to rent a car & drive it back, I would do it but my mentor isnt up for that long a drive.

Anyone else suggest a company?

Matt

Ring ASK horticurtural distribution in sydney and explain what your trying to do. they specilize in nursery plant and moved all my bonsai from central queensland to NE vic. They may not have distubution in melbourne but may know of another company. I believe red dragon bonsai in the gold coast hinterland ships trees all over aus i think they use toll? they shipped 50kg+ of pots to me and it took less than 48 hours. packaging is the key. something may have to be built around the tree. good luck.
