Hi guys,
mentioned on another thread (that I can't find) that I just took delivery of 17 old but neglected junipers. 11 Squamata Prostrata and 6 Shimpaku.
The intention is to style, pot up and sell either on e-bay or on this site, while promoting the art and development of Shohin or mini bonsai.

PLEASE IGNORE THE UNSUITABLE GLAZED POTS as they were all I had in the required size and the new owners will eventually pot them into a pot they deserve.
I am guessing the trees are about 12-15 years old, but I may be wrong.
This is the 3rd of 3 designed yesterday afternoon. After a few feeds and some new shoots they will be offered for sale
Don't be too harsh in critique as there wasn't too much foliage to work with and I don't want to scare off any prospective purchasers.

If I had the chance I would have preferred to buy the raw stock.

one can only work with what you've got to start with. Another 3 months of growth and they will look like different trees

I agree Dave. My main dislike at the moment is that thick jin that looks droopy. I also wonder why the trunk seems to extend past where an opportune point is for a leader. I can't imagine where this will lead in the future. It also makes a C shape which I have learnt is a good thing to avoid.
As I have stated before I am more immature with my understanding of conifer styling than deciduous but I feel in the last few months (one big turning point was the juniper styling vid of Leongs) I have taken the first step in my understanding.

That jin needs some serious work. I would also shorten the branches with some bending, so they become more compact as they grow.
As you said it 3-4 months they will be different trees. This shortening is some thing I would do to all of them Dave. Again JMO Pup
