With all the talk of critique, one of my own for the chopping block. It is a Corymbia citriodora that stands 20cm tall & has recently been repotted into a 42Mice carved pot.

I know the tree has flaws so give it to me straight

Hey Matt, I think the tree needs to be more towards the right. Upright style better. But the different coloured mosses looks good.

Hey Edward,

Thanks for your critique, love my lichen & moss, one the future aims will be to encourage their development on the deadwood :tu:

I like it a lot mate
Leaning to the left like that reminds me of a Peach that Ray and Clinton nesci have. They split a long straight trunk and took 1/2 each :-).
Move to the right of the pot and andrew says is a good move  and i feel you need to do something with the negative taper ? just above the broken shari.

just looks a little funny how it thickens above that section i reckon.

Matt,

This is what I imagined straight away when I seen it but it may not be for you. Cutting it where I have suggested may remove someththing of beauty that I cannot see.

It is an opinion though which I might try and give more often now. I hope you dont mind that I am inexperienced. The sketch is not quite right but you get what I mean.

Cheers

Cheers Ken,
Not sure much can be done about the taper issue you mention, tho it might get sorted when I rotate the trunk about 10deg on its axis. That & a slide to the right will have to wait until next repot when I plan to remove a root or 2.

Squizz,
Experience be blowed, thats a great drawing & I can see it as a possible future evolution for this tree that has been thru so much.
