Possible Acacias

A couple of Acacias I picked up today - one seems promising.

Acacia saligna "Springtime Cascade" (a prostrate form):

It has bark and leaves a bit reminiscent of Corymbias to me:

And tubestock of Ac. genistifolia - I thought it might have been an arid zone needle leaf, but it turns out to be that nasty straggley prickly thing that grabs at you on bush walks in the southern mountain areas.

Maybe less possibilities. but we'll see.

I don't have a lot of experience with natives, so I figured that the time to repot the Acacia saligna would be after flowering... Trouble is, the flowers form on the new shoots - wait for flowers, and the train has long since left the station.

Flowers at the base of the new shoots:

It's been far too long in the pot - some nasty thick roots running around inside, but it's too late this spring. I might try in autumn, -it's been slip-potted up for now.

A basic organising trim, not a lot off, but already it's showing some kind of direction.

Great threads Gavin.

Good to see some non standard items going through some progressions.
Thanks for making the effort.
