Transplanting an Azalea

Apologies for the basic question from this beginner. My garden has a planter box bound azalea with multiple mature trunks but in otherwise healthy condition. The plant might be 30 years plus and may give a number of Bonsai specimens. It will be a job to get it out but when is the best time to do that in Sydney? I am aiming for post flowering whenever that occurs.

Wait till it finished flowering, and then Repot ( or dig up).
This shodu be aroung october for us, but if you want to do a little earlier then you can remove all the flowers and do in September.
