I just found this image re size program. Its called Image Resizer for Windows, created by CodePlex. From explorer you just hi-light multiple images, right click and there's a new option to re size. The program sparks up and there's preset pixel sizes to choose from. Or you can choose to custom re size. It takes a while for the program to start up after you right click re size, but it's a free program so i can't complain.

Before i found this i was re sizing photos in windows paint one at a time. Quite annoying with multiple photos.
I'm interested how others re size their photos before uploading to Ausbonsai.

Have seen this a long time ago as was and addon for Windows XP.one of the useful tweak UI apps.

Faststone Image viewer - it rocks!! Its about 5Mb and you can download it free. It has all the basic conversion tools + a lot more. Check it out.

We have Microsoft Office Picture Manager. It has options to compress or resize with custom or preset sizes and can do multiple images at one go.

I cant seem to attach photos.. even resizing from a jpeg 1.49mb to smaller.

What am i doing not right?

PS Forgo to add, I use Linux ( Linux Mint) and most Linux distros have an image resize built into the File manager. From I select the images I want and Right click, and select the desired size and bingo - Done
Too easy with Computer OS's designed by users for users rather than corporations to make money

I use paint shop pro 8. no problems at all just find what you want to resize and do it.

One thing to remember people - we tend to use our digital cameras on their highest resolution. If you are taking photos for a post on this site, make your life easier and simply reduce the camera resolution and Image size settings to something more appropriate - that way you will not need to resize afterwards. Most of the time the higher resolution settings just waste storage space anyway, unless you plan to enlarge or print your photos!

I just use good ol' MS Paint. I click resize and then resize the pixels. Simple as that.

I think the Max file size is 2Mb, but that is far too big , Not everyone has fast links even today
Most of my images I resize to 800x600, whch gives a fill size of 200Kb or so.
Occasionally I use 1024x768 when showing a detail, and this gives a File of 400Kb or so.

Hi ya Ken, I have had my pics over 1mg refused, saying they were too big. I do keep them around th 800 850 mark which is a good size.

My camera on smallest setting is 4meg I have to resize no matter what. windows live photo gallery is my computers auto open for photo editting comes as part of the pack age you only do one pic at a time but it orks i normally resize to 600x whatever it is its a standard formeat and works well
