G'day All,

Just wanted to share some pics of a Juniper prostrata that I salvaged from a landscaping job,I originally threw it out cause I didn't think it was worth spending time on, as it wasn't very healthy. But since I'm a beginner I thought it might be good to have more material to practice on.
After about 4 months I put it into a bonsai pot and with a bit of nurturing it has regained its vigor, this is it so far, it stands 60cm high and trunk is just over an inch thick: It still has plenty more more work to go, I guess I wanted peoples opinion on it and do you guys think I should place it in a styro box or in the ground....and let it mature a bit more... or should I continue to refine what I have so far, any thoughts and ideas appreciatted

G'day Eliast,
It's definitely got some potential. I have a few that I used to refer to as 'trash' and treated them as experimental. After some time they started to look pretty good and worthy of keeping.
With this one of yours, I'd like to see some more movement in the lower trunk.

I will definitely try to incorporate some movement in the lower part of the trunk, I will get some raffia or inner bike tubes, wire and do a bit of twisting next week, thanks for your reply.

Hello Eliast. Your Juniper mimics one I have although mine is only around 40cm tall. I planted mine into my garden in November last year so it will increase girth.
I'd like to see how you go about wiring yours. Liam
