Have noticed a few wild almonds growing around where i live cant miss them really when in flower. Flowering has finnished on some an they starting to push leaves now maybe abit late to collect but with all the rain we are having plus keen to try one out ive decided to dig dig dig   even got the ok from the wife :o

All the trees have rough bark have a picture of one took a quick snap shot on the way home  be interesting to see how there root systems are so will pick on one smaller then i normanly collect    if all goes well ill collect a much larger tree next year :fc: . I think a good size tree in full flower would look awesome :D

It would probably be best to seal cuts. Almonds are very susceptible to gummosis which enters through open wounds. As you say, a bonsai in flower would be an awesome sight. good luck.

A very good score. I have dug Almond as late as January with success so this will be no problem. They make wonderful Bonsai but the birds ALWAYS get the nuts. :palm:

Cool, theres a ship load of almond trees around here, I'll have to give them a go. , don't get too excited when you see sprouts coming out of the trunk though, sometimes trees throw out new growth for a while then run out of steam and cark it, only after two seasons can you really declare victory.
